GS2 ? 2600 ? When sending it a ?SHAPE? File.

Posting this for Shannon

GS2 ? 2600 ? When sending it a ?SHAPE? File.
- Can I send a file as a multiple product shape file (multiple columns in
the database). YES Example sending a ?HomeField.shp? file that has a
?46-0-0? and ?18-46-0? and ?0-0-60? column all in 1 shape file. Or do you
need a single product shape. Example sending out a ?HomeField-46-0-0.shp?
and a ?HomeField-18-46-0.shp? and a ?HomeField-0-0-60.shp? sending out 3
separate shape files with single column database. Either way will work. The
operator selects the column to apply. When using 2 bins with different
products, the operator can select the same shapefile, but a different
column, for each bin.
- What is the Maximum # of polygons the GS2 will support. It was
recommended by Shannon at the ASSP meeting to write prescriptions at
50?x50?. I was talking with a crop consultant I work with out in Montana
today and he was working with a 724 acre field, that makes a 12,500 polygon
shape file. I know this is far from standard, but would like to cut off
problems before they show up. We have tested files with up to 65,000
shapes; however, larger files take longer to convert. Example: shapefile
with ~15,000 shapes takes almost 3 minutes vs. a shapefile with ~2000
shapes which takes ~20 sec.
- Is there a ?Column Format? required (# of Decimal Points) 100 vs 100.00
for the GS2 to recognize the rates. (the JD Rx Converter has this issue)
Some files which do not convert on the Rx Converter do on the GS2 shapefile
converter, and vice versa. The GS2 Shapefile converter actually has
stricter error checking than the Rx Converter. So, if the format does not
follow the ESRI standard, we display an error rather than converting.
Having said this, the case you describe here converts fine with the GS2
Shapefile Converter. I just wanted to make sure they realize that we do
require a certain format. Most desktop programs meet the ESRI format
requirements, but we have run across a couple that didn't.
Apex 2.5
- Using the ?Batch Export? function, is it still exporting out all the
?Swath Points? for every collection point? So if I had a planter set up
with 12 sections for swath control, it records 12 points for every second
instead of 1 point for every second.
That is correct. It records as many points as were set up. This is how
swath control works otherwise it wont record properly

Thanks,

Shannon
